sometimes i just detest adults.
i'm not afraid to tell you this particular person, my ex tuition kid's mama.
she was recommended by lydia's tuition agent.
(don't worry i'm not blaming you lydia. HAHA)
because since i stayed near her place,
it was more convenient to tutor her kids.
here's a little introduction about them.
the mother has 2 kids whom i tutor,
a primary 1 kid who doesn't have basic
foundations from kindergarten because
she didn't go for one,
and a primary 5 boy who
is just literally hoping to pass every year by
getting 50 and a little above.
so i tutored them for half a year till last oct.
and we stopped after they finished their exams,
the p1 girl flung all her papers, and was encouraged
by her teacher to stay back in p1 again.
however, the mother insisted in putting her into p2.
is like, what for?
she cannot even differentiate between her and she.
cannot form basic sentences properly.
what's the point in just forcing her to continue?
her p5 kid who is p6 this year ain't doing much better.
when i first came, she said he was much better than the sister.
then i realised it was the typical family tradition
of doting on sons more than daughters.
duh.
he wasn't very much different.
all the subjects didn't really do well either.
no matter how much i taught,
it was just difficult because they didn't have the
foundation in the first place.
so when i was supposed to go back last dec to teach them,
she said she didn't want me to teach anymore
because she said she was poor and couldn't afford to
pay their tuition fees.
190 for both kids? not affordable enough ahs?
she put them into the CC tuition classes because it's cheaper.
okay fair enough.
and she added me in facebook on the second tuition lesson,
although i don't teach them anymore,
i still didn't delete her as my friend.
so the main gist,
she recently renovated her whole house for $4000,
recently bought herself something expensively new
AND their family bought a new car!
how awesome right?
and you said you were poor.
you were willing to splurge on material items
and not on your own children's education.
i just don't see any head or tail to it.
maybe she didn't have much education,
because she couldn't form proper english sentences too.
and yet i have other tuition kids
who have parents who are willing to splurge on their kids.
is totally extreme!
send them for tien hsia language classes,
mental arithmetic classes,
piano classes,
comprehension classes,
mind enrichment classes.
all the nonsense stuff.
this is a good time to actually think,
how should i balance my child's life.
i won't want my child to be so burdened
by all these classes.
is too much stress for a little kid.
poor kiddos.
